There were a lot of “just not our days”. UT didn’t have the bullpen or starters to pull them through the CWS especially in the losers bracket. This was evident in conference play. They had just enough magic to pull themselves through the supers. Maybe some magic can happen if Aggie puts in the wrong pitcher.
Did you ever have a season you were just kinda glad to see end because it got old getting your hopes up only to have them crushed over and over again?
So, tell me, those of you that have been fortunate enough to see them all season on tv. Has pierce been the one coming out to get the pitcher all season? Seems pierce has been very involved in the pitching staff in the cws now.
Somebody that really knows baseball please explain to me what happened to the #1 rated pitching staff in the country. Don't tell me Witt went down. He is not the only reason this was supposed to be the #1 staff. 1) Not developed to potential? 2) Not used properly? 3) Left hanging in games so the confidence went to hell? What fixes this problem? New pitching coach? New HC? Team shrink? Better prognosticators?
good question. Don’t have a good answer. Also lost Madden, Quintanilla - good innings, depth in ‘21 The “closer” has a bad season too.
At least the ags probably won’t score in the 9th* so there’s that *unless the Horns miraculously score 8 runs
Thank you Chop, MCHammer and a couple others for tracking and posting up good stuff on Horns baseball this season. We are all disappointed the season ended today and to THAT team.
