This first drive made me say "man, how bad was Iowa State's offense?" Iowa State is 100th in scoring offense and 90th in total offense so.... really bad.

Wait, we returned out of the end zone to the 10 AND GOT A PENALTY? Kansas State has some of one of the most well coached special teams units in the country so I see this is going to be a really bad day for us on special teams.
Look, I'm 56 and I've lost a decade in the wilderness. I don't have the years left to lose another decade. The game may have just started, but you shouldn't have more then 4 defensive penalties in a game, much less a drive. I just get tired of the ineptness. Total and complete lack of discipline. And now we start on our own 4. Nice.
The penalties show lack of football discipline and concentration. This starts at the top. Well coached teams do not consistently make these mistakes.
If we had taken a knee in the end zone on that kick return, we would be on the Kansas State 20 right now and not the 40. That is why taking a touchback matters! And we looked like fools on the punt coverage.
