Well we really do miss Joyner's offensive output. Hoping she gets untracked in the 2nd half. She has got to be frustrated. Fight through this Texas, never thought this would be an easy one.
As awful as the 2nd quarter looked we have always had trouble in the second. This reminds me of the FSU game we looked um bad but we showed the Texas Fight and won that game .
Coach should not say a word at halftime. Everyone in that locker room should be ashamed of themselves. No excuse to only have 5 points of offense in 2nd quarter. WV has ONE player hurting us. Gotta shake this off...sigh
We have a problem when Brooke can't hit threes. It affects everybody, confidence suffers, and we start screwing up. Gosh, we need at least one more three point specialist.
I think Joyner looks tired. Which is kinda understood for a freshman this time of year, no?? The grind of the whole season and all. Hopefully, if she doesn't get it together in the second half, the next two weeks of no games might help her.

Honestly kind of glad we don't have to play Baylor again and can just go home and figure out how to get our fight back. We will not go one and out. Won't happen. We will get to Sweet 16. After that, there's no telling what will happen.
I get it all too well. Same theme played out over and over and over.... Inability to execute in the half court. When we can't "create offense with our defense" we're mediocre at best. The players look totally clueless in the half court offense (assuming we actually have one).
This is why we play the game on the court...not on paper. No matter how much better talent you have, if you let an inferior opponent hang around this can happen.

Coach Aston still needs to improve as a coach on the offensive end of the floor. But it would also help if this team had a consistent back to the basket post player and another shooter to help Brooke. Those are the reasons why they struggle on offense a lot of the times.
It happens. Reset. New day. New tournament. They can still get to the Final Four if they can dig deep and play like they did up until about 2 weeks ago. We all know they can play better than this. Holmes is better than that. We need our Freshman to grow up in the next two weeks and believe in herself again. Take the first quarter from all of our recent games and figure out how to make that our complete game.
Silver lining - Higgs, Hosey, Audrey and Sug are all making huge improvements. Huge. If Holmes can find her game...
I dont care how many times we dont close out games...I will always be an unapologetic Longhorn. I've seen our best and our worse. Our best matchup with anyone in the country. We just have to play with that sense of urgency every game/play. I believe that what keeps us from being elite. Our early season should have prepared us for these type of games. After this weekend everyone will be 0-0, playing sudden death schedule..lets see who can handle it.. Texas Fight!!
Not me. I wanna play Baylor every chance we get. They're the best. You gotta beat the best to have a chance to be the best. Love this team and our coach but I'm eager to see improvement in the NCAA tournament.
