It seems everyone is complaining about how this coaching soap opera is playing out. We forget (or ignore) one very important factor. Doesn't the State of Texas require us to post the job listing for a specific number of days before making a hire? How can anyone say that "it's Saban" if we hadn't posted the job and gone through the faux interview process? How can anyone say don't fire Mack until you've got a HOF coach committed? "No, don't worry about that job posting Mack, we're just trying to find your next Head-Coach-in-Waiting." The sad (or exciting) part of this is that we're just getting started. I'd be shocked if this was concluded before Christmas. And I also expect a post along the lines of the "I'm shocked, I'm pissed... it's Mack Brown." post so many years ago. We're going to wind up somewhere most folks don't expect.
