Prelude: Earlier this week Japan installed its new Emperor -- "Naruhito". This is, by far, the oldest imperial family in the world (going back to 660 BC). There was a very elaborate, though very quiet and austere (very, very Japanese), Shinto ceremony, in which nobody crowned him. Rather, the curtains of a platform were pulled back, and he proclaimed that he was now the Emperor. Then the Prime Minister led a course of "Banzai! Banzai! Banzai!" If you thought the British royal ceremonies were formal, you should check this one out.
Now, to the main point. His Imperial coronation attire: A Burnt Orange Robe. Royals truly do have good taste!
