If this happens, I think it is more a reflection on the new playoff format and how strength of schedule is going to play into rankings for the top 4 teams. I also feel that you will see more and more teams from the power 5 conferences schedule each other in an effort to boost their SoS. This will make the regular season matter unlike what the BCS proponents felt when arguing for keeping that system around.
^ I think we'll see more big inter-conference matchups when the Playoff moves to 8 teams. Then, teams will feel more assured that one loss isn't fatal to their National Championship chances.
