Anyone else notice it's 'Bury Vince Young Day'? The media reciting talking points right out of the Fisher bible...
The orange-colored glasses are incredible around here. The media is reciting Jeff Fisher talking points? Why would they care? You act like they are all Republicans or Democrats. The news is the news. VY has had two very high profile public tantrums this year plus a very odd episode in the recent past yet the loyalists are not only supporting him, they are going so far to ridicule those who have the nerve to state what is obvious. The term "hater" is the same as the term "racist." It is a last resort for those who are losing an argument.
Did I say I was talking about you? I didn't say you hate Vince. You do seem, however, to believe a lot of the things that come out of the mouths of those who have always hated on VY from the beginning.
First, I am definitely a homer for Vince. This is a Longhorn board, so why is that surprising to so many Aggy posters here? On the work ethic bash on Vince: wasn't he the guy who arranged the 7-on-7 drills (no coaches or external motivation present) leading up to the 2005 season? That speaks to true "want to" to me. Does anybody know what the Titan's record was during the VY era, broken down by VY being the starter vs. everyone else? I bet that Jeff Fisher is under .500 as a coach if you take VY's record away from him. Or pretty damn close!
Part of what convinced Bud was the assertion that there would be line of players asking to be released if Vince stayed. The Stalinist manipulation has been disgusting. Again I ask: Have you ever seen an athlete so completely defined by behind-the-scenes reports?
The orange colored glasses are incredible around here! Who would ever have expected such a thing on a UT messageboard? OF COURSE most people here would be expected to support Vince. I am proud to be one of them.
f**k the Haters. f**k Fisher. f**k the Aggy retard posters. f**k the naysayers and doubters - especially the ones that call themselves horns fans. VY will still end up in the NFL Hall of Fame before it all is done. He is clearly the most dominating Collegiate QB in NCAA history. Go get'em, Vince.
Yes--forgot about the playoff game. Help me see where I am still going wrong. 2006--Titans ended up 8-8; they were 0-3 before VY began starting, so his record was 8-5. 2007--Titans were 10-6 in regular season, and 0-1 in playoffs, so that's 10-7 (but Kerry started and won the Houston game with VY hurt), so VY's record is 9-7. 2008-Titans are 13-4 (including playoff loss), all without VY 2009--Titans end up 8-8, with VY being 8-2 (and Kerry 0-6). So far then, prior to 2010, VY's record is 25-14. 2010-- 5 losses are when VY starts: Steelers, Broncos, SD, Miami, Redskins. So, that's a total of 19 losses for VY over the five year period, isn't it? Where am I going off?
Stan, you have VY at 25-14 coming into 2010. He was 26-13 in started games. He started the first game of 2008 and had one less loss. I think it was prob on 2007 when KC also started a loss. I'll have to go back & check to be sure. Then you had him with 5 lost starts in 2010. He was 4-4, which puts him at 30-17 overall.
Thanks for correcting me about 2008--I had forgotten the first game, Which game was I wrong about in 2010? Also, I re-checked 2007 and didn't see any games Collins started and lost.
Fact: In games started and finished by VY the past two years, the Titans are 11-3. Otherwise, they are 3-15. But VY walks and Fisher stays. Amazing.
