Seems Chicago will once again be on the wrong side of a player forcing their way out. "Pending final approval of all details, superstar 6-foot-5 guard/forward Elena Delle Donne will be traded to the Mystics from Chicago. That will send center Stefanie Dolson, guard/forward Kahleah Copper and the No. 2 pick in this year's draft to the Windy City." Certainly a better deal than they got when Fowles forced a trade but with Imani, Dolson, an aging Erika de Souza, and Cheyenne Parker on the roster, it seems they would be overloaded at the C position. At 35, DeSouza isn't going to factor much in the future of the team. Imani and Dolson have similar numbers; Dolson scores a bit more but Imani has better rebounding and blocking numbers. Given that Imani is just 22, and coming off such a strong rookie season, you'd think the Sky would want to keep her. But there will be no shortage of interested teams should that not be the case.
Trade went through and it sounds like they may Dolson at the 4. Chicago's new head coach: "We got immense, immense value out of this trade," Stocks said. "Our roster is stronger, deeper and better with Stefanie Dolson and Kahleah Copper in Chicago Sky jerseys. Courtney Vandersloot, Jamierra Faulkner, Allie Quigley, they will all be the beneficiaries of playing on the court with Stefanie Dolson. And Imani Boyette might benefit most of all. She will have more opportunities to play in an open court and with fewer double-teams."
w/ Dolson, & 2nd draft pick, Sky should be fine...of greater concern for Imani is where hubby Paul will land in NFL!
