I gotta admit that I've been profusely worrying about this. C'mon J'Covan - complete this team. HOOK 'EM, Texdoc
Anybody heard about any problems with Ridley having a qualifying problem and being cleared by the NCAA? It's being talked about on other Longhorn boards
He didn't sign the letter of intent last fall when all the other recruits did after committing to UT. Lots of rumors about different family members/friends/coaches trying to direct him to other schools. He keeps saying it's UT but until he signs or enrolls he is fair game. With the cheating that goes around out there among some of the big programs there is always a chance he ends up somewhere else.
Projected 2012-13 Roster Jaylen Bond PF 6-7 224 So. J'Covan Brown PG/SG 6-1 197 Sr. Sterling Gibbs PG 6-1 185 So. Jonathan Holmes SF/PF 6-7 239 So. Myck Kabongo PG 6-1 169 So. Julien Lewis SG 6-3 190 So. Sheldon McClellan SG 6-4 200 So. Ioannis Papapetrou SG/SF 6-7 220 Fr. Prince Ibeh C 6-11 210 Fr. Connor Lammert SF 6-9 220 Fr. Javan Felix PG 5-11 170 Fr. Cameron Ridley C 6-9 260 Fr. 6/7 guards, 3/4 forwards, 2 centers. Perhaps, Barnes can go out and get another sharp-shooting guard, especially if Brown decides not to return.
I was watching the McDonald's A-A game and someone made the comment that Ridley was the 8th ranked player in his class, but only the 5th ranked Center. Must be a really good year for big men.
There has also been rumors of him not qualifying and that he couldn't sign and might have to wait and be part of next year's recruiting class.
If Ridley doesn't come on board, we are destined for another year of being a middle-of-the-pack Big 12 team that will be on the bubble come March. I'm sure people will praise Barnes for doing the best coaching job of his career with so little talent. Kabongo's hands will be tied again with all that speed but nowhere to pass. There's always next year, Myck.
