We smoked a 9.5 lb brisket yesterday and have lots of leftovers. I'm planning to make brisket chili and possibly tacos, but what else have you done with leftover brisket (besides just heating it up for sandwiches, etc.)?
Sending it down to Argentina. The beef is better here, but they cook it differently. I long for some moist & tender smoked brisket.
We ended up making the chili yesterday and it was glorious. Very, very delicious. We have a little bit left and I think the queso is a go for tonight. That looks incredible.
All good suggestions, but my favorite is the chopped beef sandwich. Chop it up, throw it in a pot with some diced onion, minced garlic, bbq sauce, molasses, apple cider vinegar, pineapple juice, mustard, cayenne pepper, s&p. Simmer for a half hour or so to reduce the sauce to the desired consistency. At least that's what I do, and they're damn delicious.
Yeah, the chili was awesome -- we used the link Fied provided above and made it with ground pork and 1/4 tsp each of the spices marked at 1/8 tsp each. Thanks for the ideas -- everything looks great.
B-jones, yes and in my thread I said I did use kidney beans. I like beans and this is no competition for me.
Took advantage of Kroger's 97 cent/lb brisket this past weekend and smoked it Sun. After eating brisket all week and still having a leftover chunk this thread was right up my alley. Did the brisket queso and fuckin' A that **** is good. Gonna do that everytime I make brisket from now on.
