An aggy introduced a Bill to force us to play aggy

aggy terminated the game by leaving the conference. Now they want to play Daddy again to somehow stay relevant since they are not REALLY relevant in the SEC or SEC West.

One session, Lyle Larson introduced a bill to have the state’s prisoners live in tents to create tent city prisons... no, I do not understand how this aggy keeps getting re-elected.

Actually a Bill like that appeals to MANY who would prefer not to have to use a revolving door but want to cap costs...tents cost a lot less than the brick and mortar operations...

His father was a large animal vet in San Antonio, so Lyle went to aggy.

Lyle's older brother, Mark, was a scholarship linebacker for UT in 1972. I don't think he lettered. I also think he has since passed away; I remember talking to Mark a few times at a local bar in SA. Gregarious and funny guy, full of good cheer. At that time I think Lyle was on Bexar County commissioners court.

In a way a not an unusual Texas family, part aggy part Longhorn. **** happens I guess.

"..... Texas State Rep. Lyle Larson filed a bill, HB 412, Tuesday that would require University of Texas and Texas A&M football teams to play on the fourth Thursday, Friday or Saturday of each November, according to a tweet from Chuck Lindell of the Austin American-Statesman.

If this bill passed and the teams failed to play on those days, they would lose all football scholarships that use state money....."

Lawmaker proposes bill to force Texas, Texas A&M to renew rivalry — or else
I think I remember an article that had a list of all the D1 schools and it showed how much monies was earned by the athletic department and how much of the department was funded by the state.

Texas was one of a handful of teams that did not get any state funds for their athletic department.

So, I say pass the bill and refuse to play, then Aggy loses scholarship money...sucks for the athletes but that should teach them not to force something most don't want to see any longer.

******* moron - he wants to withhold "state funds used for scholarships from the athletic departments"

THERE ARE NO "STATE FUNDS" USED, DUMBASS! ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIPS ARE FUNDED BY THE ATHLETIC DEPT REVENUES AND FUNDRAISING!

TYPICAL ******* POLITICIAN

Just like tent city prisons, this bill was never really intended to be taken seriously. Only to garner headlines and get Lyle Larson's name out.

Its just too bad about Lyle Larson and the five dead hookers. That issue is sure to give Lyle Larson problems politically down the road.

What a dumba- -. Correct me if I am wrong, but when Texas wanted to bolt on their own to another conference prior to the formation of the B 12, our Governor and the Legislature said not without a & m, Tech and Baylor. When ags wanted to move to the SEC for bragging rights to being a Bama little brother our aggie Governor and the legislature were silent.

The aggies made their bed with approval from the cigars in Austin and screwed the pooch on this rivalry. They can go to hell. If they need another pre-conference loss let them talk with a powerhouse from the Big 10. Texas does not need them.

Small correction. It was only Baylor and not "governor and the legislature", it was that sanctimonious, self serving ***** Ann Richards, with a small amount of help from Bob Bullock. And, no, those are not political or West Mall comments, but rather comments made from personal knowledge of her actions and great love for The Great State of Texas.

I'm an old timer but I miss the game. All my Thanksgiving memories growing up into 40's revolved around that game. My Thanksgivings have never been the same since....now I get UT and Kansas on a Friday...sue me..

On the bright side- you STILL got a win!

OK. I thought Tech and aggie were part of her deal. Makes sense. She and Bob were both Baylor grads and rebounded from the same bad habits (and I do applaud that accomplishment).
Guess my CRS is showing. No matter. Nobody gets invited to dinner with an ugly wart as big as Baylor smack dab between their eyes.

We should play them on Rivalry weekend. It was embarrassing playing Kansas this year. Bring back the hate!

Chinstrap,

She threatened the puff if Deloss didn't dump TCU and add Baylor, which was the first big blowup with the Big 8. A major portion with the appeal for the Big 8 was being able to play in the Metroplex every other year.

Had anyone in the SWC office done the slightest bit of "homework", they would have found information that would have allowed Deloss to send Baylor to the Southland Conference with Richards approval. My file was over 600 pages.

None of this involved Bullock in any way.
