Worthy transfer to USC??

Have you visited Patpong Road in Bangkok yet? I was there in the mid '70 and that place was something else, to say the least!
I’ve seen many parts of Bangkok that I shouldn’t be around. Just looking though.

Lincoln Riley knows how to win. He pulled Rattler after 2 bad quarters against us, and kicked our ***, You’d think Sark would of learned that lesson on how to kick ***. I guess not.
I’m not a Worthy maven, he is too frail, and can’t go over the middle.

Oh I think if Sark had Caleb Williams sitting on the bench he would have made that move.

If he wants to be here, great. If not then please go.

I’ve noticed some negativity here about the young man. My limited experience with him was last year he had a weekly :30 YouTube interview and I saw nothing but a humble young man who was all about the team. He always spoke about getting better.
He also was the first one to publicly support Bo Davis after the famous bus speech.
Ive seen this kid get rocked- annd I mean ROCKED-only to jump up to get back to the huddle. No drama.. no smack talk…

Dare I say that we all might not actually know what’s going on?

Yep a good head coach can and should take lessons from other winning coaches. Especially the ones that just kicked your ***.

Worthy just needs a complimentary outside receiver (better QB play would not hurt either)
We did not really have that this year and so he was being double teamed a lot. True he is not a big physical WR but he will be a absolute killer when he can operate in some more space.
One knock on him is that he does not make an effort for hard to catch balls. Sometimes it’s hard to tell though. On TV or from the stands ia throw can look a lot closer than it really is. From on the field I bet a lot of those passes were more off target than you all think.

The sooner y'all realize it's no longer about the love of Texas it's the love of the Texas NIL deal the better. We're going to see this free agency stuff every single fall from no on. We are now in the business of professional college football where there is no loyalty except to the coin.

Vol
You bring up an interesting angle
So when a player enters the portal then in addition to other schools pursuing him will other NIL sponsors also be "bidding"?
Can a NIL sponsor for say a car dealership in Los Angeles offer a player in say Texas a deal BEFORE the portal date?

All those who strongly advocated for what amounts to free agency and unlimited pay are getting what they wished for. Not a good thing in my book

I would assume that's all part of it whether it's legal or not. Who would know and who has the time to investigate all of this? Sark said in a presser when asked about XW that he wants players to be here for the right reason and that we wouldn't be getting into a bidding war (I'm paraphrasing because I don't remember the exact verbiage). Yet I would bet cash if he stays here he'll get a new NIL deal regardless of disappointing stats this year.

The sad part to me is the untold stories of all the guys looking for greener grass who don't get picked up ending up with nothing.

DS,

"Guardrails" & getting out in front of it wouldn't change anything as long as the NCAA is running it. They don't know how to govern, can't prevent much less investigate the simplest of violations.

**** can that entire group and let the "big boys" start over. I wish that was an original thought, but I first learned that two men named Darrell Royal and Frank Broyles proposed that in the late 60s.

I kinda miss their occasional visits to my office, which were generally about Baylor rather than Texas. You would almost feel sorry for the moron until your remember who was funding his investigation.

sooner or later the money doners will slow down. I cannot see how this can continue every year to new kids. Reminds me of the old afl-nfl bidding wars.

The NFL/AFL and NFL/USFL bidding wars were both settled the same way. By an acquisition/merger. This one will not end that way. The NFL has rules about not drafting kids until 3 years post HS graduation. Be assured, that is not driven by their concern for young men’s education. They have better sense than to speculate $$MM on the maturation process of young men. Some kids just flat peak out in HS. Never get much better. This bidding war will necessarily burn out on its own. The current Aggie re-evaluation process (assuming they are smart enough to have one) is just the first reality check. More will come soon. Now, 40-50 K for OL or stud LB will and should make sense. Millions for QB, RB, WR is lunacy and will fizzle first. IMHO

Who can say whether college athletics will eventually be united as a semi-pro league. who would have forseen this 40 years ago. When these kids are paid, are they not professional players? Who knows this may happen in High School next.

Agree. Free market principles will kick in at some point.

Butch- I never thought of this. You’re right.
I can see the bottom feeder Nike seeking HS players.
