I'm not sure how you'd do this, but for federal corruption cases, there really should be a nationwide venire panel. The fact that you have nothing but DC hacks is ridiculous. The city is just too partisan at this point.

 

It's not just the juries but the judges too. Look at the Clinesmith nonsense and the J6 rioters.

 

The judge in this case allowed the defense to invoke Trump repeatedly. That's outrageous.

Yep, they were allowed to remind the jury that Sussman was working against Trump, whom the jury detested. I'm not saying Trump's name should have been completely excluded. Obviously, he was relevant to the case, but allowing the defense to frame the case as Sussman v Trump was absurd and very prejudicial.

 

Does Durham have the right to file these cases outside of DC to get a better venue?

 

I'm no expert on federal criminal venue law, but I'm pretty sure it has to be filed where the crime occurred.

 

This is why there has been a push to move agency headquarters out of DC
